The 91st Academy Awards, popularly known as the Oscar took place last night with a different kind of pomp and pageantry after comedian Kevin Hart bailed out as host for the event.
The night witnessed performances by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. Several celebrities were on hand to present the awards in 24 categories.
Green Book won the best picture, Rami Malek won best actor for Bohemian Rhapsody and Olivia Colman won best actress for The Favourite. Alfonso Cuarón won best director and best cinematography for Roma, which also won best foreign language film. And while Spike Lee lost to Alfonso Cuarón the best director category, he did win his first competitive Oscar for best adapted screenplay (with Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz and Kevin Willmott).
