Harry said in a recent speech that he was sad to step back from being a senior royal, but that the move was unavoidable.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have now had to drop their royal titles – His and Her Royal Highness – and are now simply known as Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
However, reports suggest that Meghan’s new title makes it sound like she’s divorced. Diana was referred to as the Princess of Wales following her divorce, and so is Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, who is now referred to as Sarah, Duchess of York.
In addition to giving up their royal titles, the couple will also repay the £2.4 million they received for the renovations to their UK home, Frogmore cottage.
Prince Harry attended the UK-Africa Investment summit in London on Monday before a jetted out of London and to Vancouver Islands to join his wife and son.
