A former sex worker Andréa Werhun described her experience during her career as an ‘escort’ as one which she enjoyed every moment of. She said that from the beginning she had become interested in the business after she visited a strip club and watched the naked women dancing on the stage.
“What I saw when I entered the club were dancing, naked women on stage who demonstrated beauty, strength and elegance. I thought, ‘What the hell is wrong with this? Why is this taboo? To me it seemed like an inverted church: the stripper-cum-preacher on stage delivering her sexy, wordless sermon; the rapt congregation nursing their overpriced bottles of beer; the devout throwing their tithings on stage; the most pious of worshippers looking to confess their sins in private for $20 (£12) a song. I felt like I’d experienced a conversion.” She said.
She added that a friend of her mother had advised her to go into it as there was enough money and she was also assured of protection.
