Last night, the encounter between Lyon and Everton was disrupted for some minutes due to a mass brawl that was started by their team captain, Ashley Williams.
With the tie at 1-1, Williams lost his head for some moments and shoved Lopes, Lyon goalkeeper, over the billboards and near the fans sitting area and players from both sides became involved in a shoving match.
The goalkeeper later reported that a fan carrying a child had hit him though he said he was sure the home team was definitely in the habit of attacking their opponents.
The Everton officials meanwhile have identified the fan responsible and have decided to ban him from attending matches by the Toffees in future with UEFA constituting a disciplinary board that will hear the matter on November 16.
