Erykah Badu demands apology from Surviving R Kelly creator

Erykah Badu has demanded an apology from Surviving R Kelly creator, Dream Hampton, for saying she was contacted to be a part of the documentary.

Erykah took to her Twitter page on the 23rd of January 2019 to say that she was never contacted to appear in the documentary. She writes:

“No ma’am. I WAS NOT EVER contacted by anyone to be in documentary.@dreamhampton You know that’s not true. I wasn’t a necessary component. You had all the right people, the ones close to the situation…But for now, produce this “producer’s” request or… APOLOGIZE. It’s simple.”

Dream Hampton, the brain behind the docu-series replied by saying Badu was indeed asked to be on the show via a series of text messages. She has said she will not drop ‘receipts’ and has deleted her replies to Badu.

Badu suffered a lot of backlashes last week after she stopped her concert in Chicago to send love and light to R Kelly.

Hampton’s docu-series featured R. Kelly’s wife and a group of young women who spoke about the singer’s alleged abuse and sex cult. John Legend also featured in the documentary, earning lots of praise for doing so.
