Priscilla divorced Elvis in 1973 after the birth of their only child, Lisa Marie, but they remained close until his death four years later at the age of 42.
The couple were married for 6 years but divorced due to pressure and scrutiny from the public and the press. Despite efforts put into their marriage to have a normal life, they both ended up in a heartbreaking divorce.
One of the major reasons for the divorce, according to Priscilla, was that she lost herself in the marriage and only did things just to please Elvis and not herself.
Priscilla claimed that Elvis killed himself deliberately. She made the claim ahead of the premiere of the new HBO documentary, Elvis Presley: The Searcher, which looks into the singer’s connection to Memphis, Tennessee.
She claimed that Elvis was aware of his addiction, and knew exactly what he was doing overusing drugs.
Priscilla also mentioned that she and some of Elvis’ close friends and relatives have unsuccessfully tried several times to wean him off drugs.

Her words: “He knew what he was doing and people go, ‘why didn’t anyone do anything?’ Well, that’s not true.
