There are 17 countries in the world without rivers, and Saudi Arabia is the biggest of all.

According to the website, Life in Saudi Arabia, the primary source of water in Saudi Arabia is aquifers that store water underground. Since the seventies, thousands of aquifers have been constructed to cater to the demands of water – agriculture, commercial and domestic purposes.

In addition to aquifers, the only natural source of water in Saudi Arabia is the sea. This is why Saudi Arabia is the biggest user and producer of desalinated water, as sea water undergoes the process of desalination to make it fit for drinking.
