With the exception of vitamin C, an egg contains varying amounts of all the essential vitamins plus many minerals.

According to the website, Incredible Egg, an egg yolk is one of the few foods which naturally contain vitamin D, the sunshine vitamin and also contain Vitamin E (tocopherol), which fights off the free radicals that can cause tissue and cellular damage, which may lead to cancer.

Eggs are often described by the nutritionist as a large vitamin pill, they are particularly high in vitamins A, D, and B12, and also contain B1 and B2 and folic acid. Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) helps your body to break down food into energy. Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is vital for producing red blood cells. Vitamin A (retinol) is great for the eyesight. Vitamins A and B2 are also important for growth and are thus very important in childhood nutrition.
