Did you know? Apples are more effective than coffee

An apple a day should not be replaced by a cup of coffee.

Eating an apple is a much healthier alternative to drinking coffee, because of the sugar in the fruit. The sugar in the apple is one of the major reasons apples have similar effects to caffeine, also the vitamins from apples (specifically the skin) are released slowly throughout the body, making you feel more awake.

A cup of coffee in the morning helps to wake you up, it brings your body back to its normal levels of blood pressure, oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, temperature, brain activity and respiration.

Apples, on the other hand, contain high amounts of vitamins, phytonutrients, antioxidants and fibre, which keep the body going. Apples contain no caffeine but instead have about 13 grams of natural sugar. These sugars provoke a similar response to caffeine.

Not only does an apple a day keep the doctor away, but it can also help improve breathing, and unlike coffee which contains caffeine, there are no jolts, mood swings, heartburn, anxiety or nervousness.
