Following the viral video of Davido promoting the COZA church’s upcoming event, the singer has now reacted to the backlash.

In the viral video, Davido is sitting with an older woman and a little girl and they are excitedly discussing COZA’s event.

Well, social media users reacted very negatively to the tweet, airing their opinions so much that the singer has become a top trending topic on Twitter.

Social media users criticized the singer for featuring in a video promoting alleged rapist, Biodun Fatoyinbo‘s church.

The backlash was enough to prompt Davido to come out and try to clear the air on the whole issue. In a statement he released on social media, the singer said he knew nothing about the ad and only did the video to help out a friend.

He further said that the video was doctored to make it look like he was supporting the church.

Additionally, journalist, Fisayo Longe shared a screenshot of a conversation with Davido where the singer revealed that the little girl is the daughter of someone he knows.

The video has now been taken down from Biodun Fatoyinbo’s page where it was first shared so it appears Davido will not need to “proceed further”.
