The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, during a live update on the case of coronavirus in Nigeria on Friday, 13th March 2020, disclosed that the second case of the virus has tested negative.

He said this during a briefing with newsmen in Abuja. According to Dr Osaigie, the suspected cases in Edo, Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Kano and the FCT have all been tested.

With this development, Nigeria now has only one confirmed case of coronavirus who is currently being treated at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba, Lagos.

The second case of the virus, previously announced by Dr Ehanire, was in a man who works as a vendor for Lafarge Africa PLC. The second person was in contact with the Italian man prior to his infection. The minister also said the patient will be discharged soon

And concerning the index case of the virus, he stated that he is making progress.

I guess when the government said they were prepared to handle the virus, they meant every word.
