Confirmed- Chelsea pay €80m release clause for goalkeeper Kepa

Athletic Bilbao have confirmed on their official website that Kepa would be leaving the team following the payment of his €80m release clause.

Kepa is expected to replace Thibaut Courtois as no. 1 in Stamford bridge as the Belgium international has his eyes set on a Real Madrid move.

The 23-year-old is to travel to England on Wednesday afternoon ahead of an announcement on Thursday.

The €80m move surpasses the €72.5m paid by Liverpool for Alisson last month making Kepa the most expensive keeper in the World.
