CNN's Anderson Cooper splits from boyfriend after 9 years together

“Benjamin and I separated as boyfriends some time ago,” Cooper, 50, said in a statement. “We are still family to each other, and love each other very much. We remain the best of friends, and will continue to share much of our lives together.”

Cooper and Maisani, originally from France, met in 2009 and have kept their relationship relatively low-keyed.

Maisani, who immigrated to New York in 1994 at age 21, is a bar owner whose holdings, with business partners, include Bedlam in the East Village.
