Chimamanda Adichie, Chinua Achebe, Yaa Gyasi named in BBC's '100 novels that shaped our world'

Books written by Chimamanda Adichie, Chinua Achebe, and Yaa Gyasi have made it onto the BBC’s list of 100 novels that shaped our world.

According to the BBC, these books were chosen by top literary authors, curators, and critics.

All of the books are in the English language and were written in the past 300 years. They range from children’s classics to popular books, like JK Rowling’s Harry Potter.

Adichie’s ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ and Gyasi’s ‘Homegoing’ were named under the Identity section, while Ben Okri‘s ‘Astonishing the Gods’ is also on the list, under the Life, Death & other Worlds section.

Other authors on the list are James Baldwin, Zadie Smith, Ernest Hemingway, and Arundhati Roy also make the list, as well as crowd favourites like ‘The Twilight Saga’ by Stephanie Meyer and the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling.
