As the singer celebrates her birthday today, it feels great to have her back in the entertainment scene with the release of a music video, Yanga.
This comes after she ended her painfully long hiatus a couple months ago with the unabashedly romantic Love Me.
The track which is produced by Oscar is a catchy afropop song that finds Chidinma singing about wanting to be shown off by her man, and doing the same with him.
On the track, it’s clear that Chidinma is no longer interested in a lowkey relationship as she says, “Dem no know say na me be your baby”. She asks her lover to “carry [her] do yanga”.
Yanga depicts a sentiment that a lot of people will definitely relate to and we hope it’s not a case of her relationship with Kiss Daniel.
In the music video, which was directed by Mex, Chidinma is seen on a date with her man who starts acting cold as soon as they are in public. After she makes it clear what she wants from him (in song, of course) he fixes up and becomes more comfortable with public displays of affection.
