Check out the Nollywood movies to be exhibited in Hollywood

Aside from being picked to be exhibited at the Hollywood show, these three movies have one additionally thing in common? They are altogether directed by ladies.

The movies are: Lionheart, Up North and King of Boys. They will be exhibited at the current year’s release of ‘Nollywood in Hollywood’ on March 22 and 23 in Hollywood California, USA.

Responding to this, the occasion’s executive of activities, Maceo Willis, reportedly states:

“That’s simply amazing, in Hollywood, we struggle with diversity and inclusion. These powerful female voices from Nigeria are showing Hollywood how it’s done.

“We believe these remarkable films will be great representatives of Nollywood.”

Lionheart recounts the story of Adaeze, a young woman played by Genevieve Nnaji. She faces the difficulties that accompany maintaining a male-ruled business when her dad, played by Pete Edochie, is compelled to step down in view of medical problems.

It is the directorial introduction of Nollywood’s best performing artist and Netflix’s first unique Nigerian motion picture.

King of Boys pursues the tale of Alhaja Eniola Salami, a businessperson and donor with a checkered past and a promising political future. She is a mainstay of society — cherished by many, dreaded by most, and genuinely known by a chosen few. As her political aspirations see her exceeding the black market associations in charge of her significant riches, she’s drawn into an influence battle that compromises all that she holds dear. To leave this to finish everything, she will require each ounce of the guile, savagery, and system that took her to the best, just as the unwaveringness of those nearest to her. The movie was directed by Ace female director Kemi Adetiba

Up North explores love, friendship and family politics, all of which collide, creating memories to last a lifetime. It tells the story of a young rebellious heir (Banky W) who gets sent to Bauchi for his NYSC assignment as a punishment for defying his father.
