Chance The Rapper donates $1m to mental health services

Chance the Rapper announced that he is donating $1 million to improve mental health services in his hometown of Chicago.

At the second annual SocialWorks Summit, the rapper spoke to hundreds of Chicago town citizens and viewers worldwide about his charitable efforts with the organization.

We need a new space where people can get information on how they feel, on where to go and a network for us to interact and review our mental health spaces, and create a community of people helping people,” he began. “So I’m proud to announce that I’m pledging $1 million towards mental health services in Chicago.

Since the rapper began his career, he’s been extremely active in giving back to his hometown. In March 2017, Chance the Rapper gave away $1 million to Chicago Public Schools.

Chance has joined other celebrities to help people with mental health conditions. Last month, Taraji P Henson opened a mental health centre for black people.
