Champions League Results: Match Day 6.

 

 

Benfica 0-1 Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford ensured that United kept their perfect run in the Champions league this season up as he grabbed the only goal in the match as the home side were hell-bent on getting something in return for hosting the English club, but succeeded in losing Luisao to a red card infringement.

 

CSKA Moscow 0-2 Basel.

Basel shocked the Russians at home with a surprising win that does much to raise their hopes in getting beyond the first round with goals from Xhaka and Oberlin. Basel are now second after two wins (one against Benfica).

 

Anderlecht 0-4 PSG.

The trio of Mbappe, Neymar and Cavani were on the score sheet for the visitors as they recorded what has become a routine win with Angel Di Maria getting to round off the triumph.

 

Bayern Munich 3-0 Celtic.

Thomas Meuller who is making a return to the line up under the new coach opened the scoring and Kimmich and Hummels added the remaining goals as the Bavarians seek to reestablish their fear factor.

 

Qarabag 0-0 Atletico Madrid.

The home team recorded their first point of the campaign with a hard fought draw against Atletico and even their reduction to ten men following a red card did not break down their resolve.

 

Chelsea 3-3 Roma.

Roma came from two goals down to one goal up thanks to a brace by Dzeko but Eden Hazard also scoring his second of the night drew the Blues level.

 

Barcelona 3-1 Olympiacos.

Barcelona won their third game in the champions league this season with Messi scoring his 100th goal in the competition, though Pique’s sending off will dampen their spirit a little.

 

Juventus 2-1 Sporting CP.

The Old ladies turned an early deficit around with Mandzukic notching the winning goal with 84 minutes on the clock.
