Former Super Eagles’ defender and Chelsea legend, Celestine Babayaro, has been confirmed to play in a charity match between legends of Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Every year, the Real Madrid Foundation organises the Corazón Classic Match, an exhibition game in which football legends get together to play for charity. The 10th edition will be between former Real Madrid and Chelsea players at Stamford Bridge on 24th June.
During his career, Babayaro spent eight years playing for Chelsea, the longest he ever spent in a Premier League club. In 132 appearances, the Nigerian scored a total of five goals, playing as a defender and, sometimes, as a midfielder.
Real Madrid’s team will include Raul, Roberto Carlos, Alvaro Arbeloa, Julio Baptista, with further names to be announced in due course, according to Chelsea FC.
