The pop star took an Easter break from her stay at a mental health facility and was pictured leaving the Montage Resort and Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, with her boyfriend Sam Asghari.
As the photos hit the web, Britney’s former manager, Sam Lutfi took to Twitter to suggest that Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, should be removed as her conservator.
Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, and her lawyer, Andrew Wallet took on the roles of co-conservators of Britney in 2008. As conservators, it means they have taken on the legal responsibilities of making decisions for the singer, including decisions regarding her career and finances. Wallet resigned from his role in March.
But after Britney emerged in public with her boyfriend on Easter Sunday, Sam Lutfi took to Twitter to claim that she looked “terrified and aberrant” in the photos from her outing.
This led to a FreeBritney hashtag as Sam led fans to believe Britney is being exploited or held against her will.
But Britney’s boyfriend Sam Asghari granted a brief interview while out in Los Angeles earlier Tuesday. He said Britney is doing “amazing” and he strongly insinuated it’s time for her fans to stand down on claims she’s being exploited or held against her will, because there’s “nothing to worry about.”
Shortly after, Britney took to Twitter to address the claims being made by ex-manager Sam Lutfi. The video is the first time Britney has spoken out in public since getting treatment for mental health issues.
In the video, Britney said she and her family are going through some serious stress. She added that she’s dealing with a lot of “stress and anxiety” and she just needed some time on her own to deal with the situation.
