British rapper Mist, 27, has been shot during a suspected robbery in Portugal, according to British media.

The Mobo Award-winning artist, whose real name is Rhys Thomas Sylvester, was in a luxury Quint do Lago villa when burglars are believed to have broken in and taken his passport, jewellery and mobile phones.

The rapper was taken to hospital by two friends who told police he was shot in the leg at approximately 10 pm local time on Tuesday. They said there had been two or three burglars who had Irish accents.

His condition is currently unknown. However, sources allegedly told The Mirror that Mist had left the hospital, though it is not known whether he had been discharged by doctors or he had chosen to leave himself.
