Bonnie McMurray is a recurring character on the Letterkenny sitcom that currently airs in the US on Hulu Live TV streaming service. Canadian actress Kamilla Kowal plays Bonnie’s character in the series that is currently on its ninth season.
While the TV series kicked off with key characters like Wayne, Daryl, Shoresy and Katy, it has since progressed past just them to include others. Many members of the Letterkenny cast have become popular and synonymous with their characters on the show over the years.
Examples of these characters are Bonnie McMurray, Wayne Letterkenny, Katy Letterkenny, Tanis and more. While this article is focused on Bonnie, it will also include important details about the series. First, let us take a look at what the plot of the series is.
Letterkenny TV series
According to Wikipedia, Letterkenny was created by Jared Keeso with Tierney as director. Initially, it began as a 2013 YouTube web series titled Letterkenny Problems before Crave, a Canadian subscription video service commissioned it as a television series.
In the beginning, Keeso and Dales were the major characters. Letterkenny Problems got a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Original Fiction Program or Series Created for Digital Media at the 2nd Canadian Screen Awards in 2014.
After its debut on Crave in 2016 as a sitcom, CTV Comedy Channel began airing it as well. The show is based on the people living in Letterkenny, a fictional rural community in Ontario, Canada. It is actually filmed in a real town called Sudbury, Ontario.
The show began gaining popularity and mainstream acceptance before Hulu Live TV started distributing it in the United States in 2018. In May 2019, the streaming service officially acquired exclusive airing rights to the series and future seasons in the United States.

The series won the award for Best Comedy Series at the 5th Canadian Screen Awards in 2017. Its plots are usually about Wayne’s character having to defend his reputation as “the toughest guy in Letterkenny”. It also covers the exploits of the town’s hockey team who rarely win, Wayne’s attempts to break up his sister, Katy’s, relationships with the various men he dislikes.
The Skids’ (see Letterkenny slang meanings at the bottom of the article) schemes to cheat the residents of both Letterkenny and the natives also contribute to the show’s plot. Wayne’s dating life is also part of the show’s focus as he tries to get over his high school sweetheart who cheated on him.
Letterkenny also champions the argument that small-town residents do not have lower intelligence levels as is the usual narrative. Thus, the show is filled with quickly made-up lots of wordplay and puns and the characters expressing intelligent views on worldly topics.
Super Soft Birthday Party
This is the title of the second episode of Letterkenny Season 1. It is also one of its most popular and it revolves around Wayne and Katy planning for Daryl’s annual “Super Soft Birthday Party”, despite him not wanting it.
In the episode, Wayne fights Sled Ted, Rat-ass, and Joint Boy during the birthday party to maintain his title as Toughest Guy in the town. Katy also ‘uses’ the hockey players to get what they need for the birthday party as well.
