It’s black history month and Black Panther is to be shown for free across theatres in the US.
Disney has arranged for the multiple award-winning, record-breaking movie to be shown across 250 participating AMC theatres. The tickets will be free for all moviegoers and the movie will screen twice a day for a week.
In addition to that, the company will also donate $1.5 million to the United Negro College Fund to support its mission to help minority students attend college.
“Black Panther is groundbreaking for many reasons, including the rich diversity of voices behind its success,” said Bob Iger, chairman and chief executive officer.

“The story also showcases the power of knowledge to change the world for the better, and the importance of ensuring everyone has access to it. We’re proud to provide thousands of free screenings of ‘Black Panther’ in hopes it will continue to inspire audiences, and to support UNCF with a $1.5 million grant to make the dream of higher education a reality for more students.”
Black Panther has broken several records and won several awards including becoming the first superhero movie to be nominated for an Oscars award.
