Davido won the award ahead of other international stars like Booba (France), Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), Dadju (France), Fally Ipupa (Dr. Congo), J Hus (UK), Niska (France), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Stefflon Don (UK) and Stormzy (UK).
In his acceptance speech, the singer a condolence message to Nigerian musician Dbanj whose 13-month old son reportedly died just a few hours ago.
“I want to send condolences to my big brother, the actual artiste that paved the way for us to be on this stage D’banj, my condolences, I’m with you, you are my brother,” Davido says during his acceptance speech.
