The Oscar-winning producer sought help from a private facility in Malibu after his estranged wife – Jennifer Garner -staged an intervention in August. At the time, the 46-year-old had hit rock bottom.
On his Instagram page, Affleck said that battling addiction has been a lifelong and difficult struggle. Thanking his family, friends and fans for their support, he also mentioned that he has been to rehab in 2001 and 2017.
He wrote on his Instagram page: “The support I have received from my family, colleagues and fans means more to me than I can say,” he said in a statement. “It’s given me the strength and support to speak about my illness with others.
