Gareth Bale has admitted that he is confused as to why his overhead kick against Liverpool in a match as important as the Champions League final did not even make the shortlist of the goal of the season.

The Real Madrid forward who has got off to an explosive start this season said that he would like to know who was on the panel for the goal of the season because according to him, “they want to be sacked.

He told Sportsmail he “don’t know how it wasn’t on that list! I want to know who is on the panel because they want to be sacked.”

To be fair to Bale, his goal was quite spectacular but apparently, only one nominee from each of the main UEFA competitions was allowed on the shortlist and Ronaldo’s goal was picked ahead of his.

When asked which goal he thought was better he answered: “It’s not for me to say!”

One thing is for sure, Bale’s goal should have easily also made that list just look at the jump power.

Making the list may not have necessarily changed the results though as Ronaldo’s goal was just as sesnsaional, it even drew an applause from Juve fans, who, at the time were opponents.
