He has accused his current club, Atletico Madrid of trying to make him look bad in order to sabotage any business his hopeful team (PSG) might have offered him.
Filipe, who plays internationally for Brazil, was one of the players being considered by PSG this summer in order to solve their left-back problem, before eventually settling upon Juan Bernat.
The former Chelsea player was left frustrated, however, that he was not able to at least discuss terms with the Ligue 1 side.
“There was a chance to go to PSG,” he told Globoesporte. “I spoke to Atletico and asked them to let me go, just as they had released Gabi [who moved to Al Sadd] recently. The club said that it wasn’t the same situation, despite similar periods of time remaining on our contracts.
“In my situation, there was little time before the window closed and finding a replacement would have been difficult. When they said they did not want me to leave and they set a price that was not going to be paid, I accepted.
