Mesut Ozil has the support of his new manager Unai Emery following his retirement from international football.
Emery explained to a group of journalists in a press conference in Singapore the need to support Ozil in his decision, stating that the playmaker had several qualities that almost certainly guarantee him a great season.
“It is a personal decision from Mesut and I respect it. He thinks what is best for him, he explained his decision and here we need to help him.” Emery said.

“He has experience, he has quality and he has a great mentality and we are going to help him feel good and to show his quality with us. I am sure he is going to have a big season with us.”
Ozil has joined his teammates on their pre-season tour at Singapore after cutting his break short by 3 days and although he will not take part in the pre-season fixture against Atletico Madrid on Thursday, he is set to play against PSG on Saturday.
