Will Smith and Jada Pinketh Smith launch new media company, Westbrook Inc.

Hollywood power couple Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith have launched a new multimedia company, the power couple announced on Wednesday.

Deadline reports that the new venture is a  cross-platform holding company formed to execute the Smith family’s global content and commerce business strategy. Will and Jada Smith’s kids, 21-year-old son, Jaden, and 18-year-old, Willow, are actors and singers in their own right.

We are so excited to announce this new venture and fully immerse ourselves in all areas of the media and entertainment space,” the statement reads. “With our incredible team of family, chosen family, and longtime business partners, Westbrook Inc.’s mission is to spread positive ideas, art, and products that entertain and empower the greatest number of lives, inspiring the next generation of artists to do good in the world.”

Westbrook, Inc. will encompass all forms of visual content. The company will house the Smith family’s existing projects as well as new ventures. This includes short and mid-form digital content, traditional television shows, and movies. Also, it will serve as the parent company for most of the couple’s existing media studios. The Smiths’ Overbrook Entertainment studio celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2017.

Kosaku Yada has already been named CEO of the venture, with Tera Hanks acting as president, Gila Jones as COO, Kevin McDonald as CFO and Jesse Uram as vice president of business development, Variety Deadline.

The Westbrook Inc. brand will include a handful of subsidiary studios, such as Red Table Talk Enterprises, Overbrook Entertainment, Westbrook Media and more.
