One audience of the top TV show, The Ellen Show, was pleasantly surprised by the show’s host, Ellen Degeneres, by bringing her family members all the way from Africa to meet her
Achieng Agutu had moved to the US from Kenya to pursue her education when she was 16 and had not set eyes on members of her family for the past two years. But that changed thanks to the magnanimity of Ellen who shocked the fan by bringing her family members from Kenya and South Africa to her show so that they meet one another.
Achieng wasn’t let in on the plan as she talks about her love for the show, education, family and working in the US. Imagine her surprise when the door was opened and her parents and brother join her on stage. It was a joyous and emotional moment.
The kind host also offered the family the chance to win a huge cash prize in Million Dollar May. And yes they won $50,000.00, the biggest prize possible.
