Swizz Beatz in an interview on Apple Radio with Zane explained that X saw the opportunity for collaboration as a blessing. He said DMX felt at ease knowing he only had to do just three verses.
“Hood Blues” dropped nearly two months after DMX’s demise and would feature on his forthcoming posthumous album, Exodus.
The track started off with some signature ad-libs from the veteran rapper with some sound effects which set the stage for Westside Gunn to enter his world of grime and arts.
