Four positive coronavirus tests have been returned from the latest round of testing, the Premier League confirmed on Monday.
The UK Government, despite a four-week ‘circuit break’ lockdown, which will start in England on Thursday, due to the strict testing regimes in place has allowed Premier League football and other elite sports to continue during this period.
A total of 1,446 players and club staff were available and tested for coronavirus between Monday, 26 October and Sunday, 1 November.
As a precaution to curb the spread, players or club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate for a period of 10 days.
The latest test results were confirmed by the Premier League on Monday night but did not name the clubs or individuals involved.
