Europa League Results: Arsenal win against Molde; Tottenham against Ludogorets plus other results

Arsenal made it three wins from three in Europe after overcoming an early scare to thrash Norwegian side Molde 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

The visitors were in front in the 22nd minute courtesy of a long-range shot by Martin Ellingsen to hand Molde a shock lead, but Arsenal, after a rather uninspiring first-half performance, were back on level terms just before the break, thanks to a Kristoffer Haugen’s own goal.

Another own goal by substitute Sheriff Sinyan completed the turnaround for the Gunners, before Nicolas Pepe and Joe Willock added the gloss to the scoreline for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The win ensures Arsenal stay ahead of Molde in Group B after the Gunners won their first three games in the race towards qualification for the knockout rounds.

Ludogorets 1-3 Tottenham: Harry Kane reaches 200 goals for Spurs in an entertaining European display

Harry Kane joined the 200 club after netting his 200th goal as Tottenham Jose Mourinho’s men dispatched Ludogorets 3-1 in Thursday’s Europa League showdown.Europa League Roundup

Mourinho questioned his players’ attitude after the team suffered a loss in Antwerp last week and we saw a different Spurs side afterward.

Harry Kane’s landmark moment came on his 300th appearance for Spurs, and it was a header from a Lucas Moura corner before then setting up Moura for Tottenham’s second of the night.

Claudiu Keseru gave Ludogorets a glimmer of hope when he pulled one back to reduce the deficit after the break, but the Premier League side was always in control and Heung-Min Son took just 17 seconds to make his impact off the bench, setting up the impressive Giovani Lo Celso to score the third.

Mourinho’s side is now in a comfortable position with six points from their first three games in Group J with two home games still to come.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho: “We started the game with ambition, which was different to what we did in Antwerp. So good attitude to start. We tried to kill the game in the first half.

It was not possible with 2-0 because 2-0 the result is still open, but it was a strong start and performance with two good goals and hitting the post.

“We completely dominated and I don’t remember one single situation for them of danger. That made a difference because in Antwerp we gave an advantage to the opponent and then when they were good they were winning. They closed everything the way they could and we couldn’t react.”
