More stars are coming out to show support of Naomi Osaka after her voluntary withdrawal from the French Open, and Will Smith joins with a handwritten note.
Smith took to his Instagram to show a handwritten note he wrote in solidarity for the young athlete. The note read, “Hey Naomi, You are Right. They are Wrong! I am with You.”

It is heartwarming to see the support the athlete is receiving worldwide, both from her fans and her colleagues. It does a world of good for the important discussions going on about mental health. It also encourages more people to own their mental health stories.

All of this comes on the back of the drama that ensued between the Tennis governing bodies and Naomi Osaka last week. The young athlete’s heartfelt note on her withdrawal from the competition has stirred the great waters since its publication.
Amongst others who have openly shown support to Osaka are Venus and Serena Williams. They both spoke on the issue at their post-match press addresses. Also, legendary tennis icon Martina Navratilova and 39 Grand Slam winner Billie Jean King have shown support.
According to a press release, Serena had this to say: “Not everyone is the same. I’m thick. Other people are thin. Everyone is different and everyone handles things differently.”
“You just have to let her handle it the way she wants to and the best way she thinks she can. That’s the only thing I can say: I think she is doing the best she can.” Serena concluded.
