Nigerian music legend Ras Kimono dies at 60

Nigerian music legend Ukeleke Onwubya popularly known as Ras Kimono died today June 10th at the age of 60.

Ras Kimono was said to have concluded plans to travel to the United States last night. Before he could make the trip, he complained about feeling funny. He was rushed to a hospital in Ikeja and later taken to Lagoon Hospital where he died.

Tony Okoroji and other members of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) were on their way to the hospital immediately after they heard the news.

Ukeleke Onwubya is a Nigerian reggae artist whose debut album, Under Pressure, led by his single Rum-Bar Stylée was a big hit in the Nigerian music scene in 1989.
