The reason for the exit of the fan-favorite in the recently concluded first season of Netflix’s series Bridgerton, Duke of Hastings, Rege-Jean Page, has been explained by Lady Danbury finally.
The Lady Danbury character played by Adjoa Andoh commands attention and who better to quell the controversy on the exit of Rege-Jean Page who played the Duke of Hastings.

The Bridgerton star broke her silence on the exit of her former co-star who has already confirmed that he won’t return for the second season of the show hinting that it was all part of the plan.
Lady Danbury explained in an exclusive interview with DailyPop that, “We’re following the overriding framework of Julia Quinn‘s beautiful novels. There are eight Bridgerton children: one down, seven to go”.
She further chipped in saying, “Season two it’s Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) so there you are. That’s the arc of the show.”
Rege-Jean Page’s absence undoubtedly would be a large blow to the series by Shonda Rhimes and his onscreen mother figure Lady Danbury claims she’d feel his absence the most.
In the interview with Daily Pop, she said, “We all love Regé and we’re all going to miss Regé but it’s not a huge surprise“.
Andoh also praised Page’s sense of humor and claims it’s one of the things she would miss most about him. She also said, “the way he loves to have a good argument [and] discuss and ruminate about things,” is also why she would miss working alongside him.
Andoh also said she and Page share a common love for music, especially for punk, and even went on to say “He’s a lovely man and he’ll be my friend for life.“
