It is worth noting that some of the slots may already be taken because the organisers started an Early Access Auditions in March, two months ago, for only DSTV and GOTV users.
Speaking about the new season’s auditions, Chief Executive Officer, MultiChoice Nigeria John Ugbe said: “We are strengthening our investment in quality content with another season of BBNaija. BBNaija has become one of the most anticipated TV events across Africa and this season promises to be even bigger and more entertaining”.

Last year, Olamilekan “Laycon” Agbeleshe went home with the total grand prize of N85 million, but it has gone up to N90 million this year. The virtual audition format that began because of the COVID-19 pandemic continues in this new season as well.
BBNaija organisers claim that 30,000 people showed interest in the 5th season, and expect the number to go up this time around.
They are yet to announce the show’s host, and it will be interesting to see if Ebuka Obi-Uchendu continues as the sole anchor or the new season will usher in a new face. There have been discussions about the TV personality and fashion icon holding a ‘monopoly’ over hosting what is arguably Africa’s biggest reality show. With many suggesting Nancy Isime, another popular Nigerian TV presenter and actress, either replace him or serve as a co-host.
