Everything you need to know about Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade 2021

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2021 is set to be really loud, in sharp contrast to last year’s muted event. What is it all about? Learn all the vital facts here.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2021 brought back the parade that people have always known. Residents will have 2.5 miles of public viewing with balloons, floats, and bands as they make their way from the Upper West Side to Macy’s flagship store at Herald Square.

The 2021 parade will be the 95th edition, and it is to start at 9 a.m. ET Thursday, 25 November 2021. CNN Travel spoke to a resident of New York City, Lisa Fischer, and she stated that she was delighted about the event. “Obviously, I had to watch it on TV last year. It was still fun and brought back great memories,” she said.

However, Fischer didn’t fail to mention that the parade wasn’t the same without the energy of the street and the usual traditions. She added, “when my two children were younger, I used to take them to watch the giant balloons being inflated. Then they’d catch the parade on TV the next day in their [pajamas] at home. Around 2004, they had a memorable time watching up close. We got to be in the stands right in front of Macy’s. I was fortunate enough to get tickets and right in front where they televised it. That was really fun. [sic]”

Well, if you are just like Lisa Fischer, who already has expectations of the parade, here’s what you can expect, either watching on the ground or watching on TV.

Weather forecast

Of course, we can’t plan to have a parade without being sure of a favorable weather. We need to know if the weather will keep the balloons from flying? So, according to CNN Meteorologist Judson Jones, all balloons should go ahead and fly as there is no indication of winds near the threshold. Jones said, “the weather will be crisp and beautiful. It may be a little bit cold in the early hours, the upper 30s to lower 40s. But by the time Santa hits Herald Square, it will be mostly sunny with a temperature of about 50 degrees, if not a bit warmer.” So, I guess the parade party can go on.
