Shooting: Burna Boy Should Apologise, Not ‘Display Rudeness’ – Okowa’s aide

Ossai Success advised Burna Boy to apologize, and not ‘display rudeness over the shooting at the Cubana club.

Ossai Success is an aide to the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, who has stated that Burna Boy should apologize for the shooting at Club Cubana, Lagos, instead of ‘displaying rudeness.’ The singer’s police escort allegedly shot and wounded two fun-seekers at the club on June 8, 2022, after one of their partners turned down his offer to join him and his friends in their VIP section.

The lady in question had faulted the club and Burna Boy’s “lack of remorse or accountability” for the incident, which almost claimed two lives. A few days after the incident, Burna Boy tweeted, “Nigerian Social media can say BURNA BOY started Boko haram, e no go shock me.”

However, Okowa’s Special Assistant on Media took to his verified Facebook page on Tuesday to note that the singer should publicly apologize for the incident. He wrote,

“Burna Boy should publicly apologize for Cubana Night Club’s shooting. As a public figure, and a celebrity loved by many people, it’s your responsibility to take the blame, and apologize whether you are right or wrong”.

“Burna Boys silent over what happened at Cubana club shows his pride. While investigations are going on, he should apologize to us all”. “What happened that night happen because he was there and the officers attached to him did the shooting, so it’s paramount he tenders his apology instead of displaying his rude attitude. “Victims are in hospital and yet his pride doesn’t want to allow him to apologize. Burna Boy has no justification for not apologizing.“
