Born 15 February 1964, Jose Trinidad Marin is a famous American celebrity husband and former restaurant manager known as Trino Marin, the ex-husband of Jenni Rivera. Rivera was a renowned American singer, songwriter, actress, television producer, spokesperson, and philanthropist. Popularly known as Trino Marin, Jose was born and bred in Mexico before relocating to the United States with his family.
His fame came solely from being married to Jenni Rivera, despite their affairs being hardly ever made public. They got married in 1984 and have three children together. In a not so pleasant turn of events over the years, Trino got bad publicity based on the controversy that surrounded his treatment of his wife. It was alleged that he physically assaulted her and a case from 2007 seemed to ack this claim up.
Trino Marin is currently in prison for sexual assault and other crimes. He was sentenced to 31 years in prison without parole in 2007. In 1984, when Trino was 20 years old, he married her; she was allegedly 14 at the time. In 1985, when she was only 15 years old, she became pregnant with the first of their three children, Janney “Chiquis.”
Jenni ultimately decided to call it quits after years and years of mental torment. In the early 1990s, she filed for divorce, and it was finalised in 1992. Rivera was handed custody of her three children.
Jenni initially filed for divorce from Jose because of the physical and mental abuse she suffered. She didn’t find out about his sexual abuse scandal relating to others until several years after the divorce. In 1997, she learnt that Trino had sexually abused their two daughters and her sister, Rosie.

She released her first studio album, Si Quieres Verme Llorar, in the late 1990s but failed to attain commercial success. He died from complications of pneumonia while in prison in 2009.

Trino physically harmed his daughters, Janney and Jacqueline Marin. Most of this was, however, not known to Jenni all through their time together as couples. Jenni Rivera only found out about many of the incidents in 1997, 5 years after their divorce.
Upon hearing about the crimes, Jenni immediately filed a complaint against Trino. After lodging a case, he was summoned by the court, but he fled and was marked as a fugitive. He changed his identity and began a life in Riverside County before he was eventually apprehended in April 2006; after nine years on the run.

During a Univision interview, Rosie Rivera, a victim of Trino’s, described the first time she was abused by him as follows:
“Chiquis and I were playing Barbies, and he came in. He asked her to come out, and he asked me if I wanted to play, let’s play love games and brought a quilt. He began to kiss my neck and touch where no one had touched me.”
Trino has requested that his sentence be lowered and that he be freed on bond for good behaviour on two occasions, but his counsel has refused.

In 2017, Trino met with Jacqie, his younger daughter, who took pictures with him and said that she had forgiven him.
Trino Marin’s life is a real example of actions and consequences. He has and still suffers for his crimes. Fortunately, he has seen forgiveness from both of his daughters and may yet have some peace. Despite unfounded rumours of a possible early release in 2018, he continues to serve his term.
