Since the interview was released, a number of people have ridiculed Will Smith for forgiving his wife, Jada after she admitted to an ‘entanglement’ with August Alsina four years ago.
During the interview, Will and Jada said they were separated when she had her affair with August. The couple ended the interview by saying that they would live together and die together in their bad marriage for life.
Following this, Ruth Kadiri took to Instagram to share a few thoughts on the subject. She noted that most of the people who claimed that Will should not have forgiven Jada are African men.
She also pointed out that marriage should be a two-way street and forgiveness should go both ways. She captioned the post:
“Forgiveness should be both ways. #respect, love, and forgiveness should be reciprocal. If you think otherwise go and lick Tomtom. (Nobodyshouldstressme)”

Nothing to forgive here, they were separated. Would anyone be talking of forgiveness if they hadn’t reconciled and got divorced before this sh*t was made public?
Ruth’s comment was on point in other cases but that was not the case here, nothing to forgive, methinks.
Well, most women don’t forgive infidelity too and most African men do. So it’s a personal choice
She didn’t tell any lies please. Men should be more open minded
This is so true… In marriage, you should forgive even before the wrong is done. That’s the mindset that works
Everyone should do what’s best for them. If I decide not to forgive, it’s no one’s business.
