The reality star who visited California Institution for Women on Friday to tour the facility and meet with 15 women inmates is now calling on the governor of California, Governor Jerry Brown, to sign a bill to protect women inmates.
“The women I met at CA Women’s Institution are still on my mind and in my heart,” Kim tweeted Monday.
Kim is urging Governor Brown to sign Assembly Bill 2550, which would limit how male prison guards contact female prisoners. The bill would ban male guards from entering areas where female inmates might be undressed and would also ban them from conducting pat-down searches on female inmates unless the inmate presents an immediate risk of harm or escape. Male guards would also have to announce their presence when entering housing areas.
