According to E! News, the 89-year-old music mogul passed away early Wednesday in Las Vegas. Joe was the father and manager to Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and the singing group, The Jackson 5.
No cause of death has been released, but Joe had reportedly been hospitalised - battling with terminal cancer.
Coroner John Fudenberg tells E! News: “We are reviewing the circumstances, but as of now there is no reason to believe anything other than a natural death.”
“We are deeply saddened by Mr Jackson’s passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to Mrs Katherine Jackson and the family,” John Branca and John McClain, co-executors of Michael Jackson’s estate, say in a statement.
“Joe was a strong man who acknowledged his own imperfections and heroically delivered his sons and daughters from the steel mills of Gary, Indiana to worldwide pop superstardom.”
