Thirty-six young women will on tonight vie for the crown of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant.
It is the 30th instalment of the annual event and contestants have gone through boot camp, training with professionals, photo shoots and are now ready to walk the stage this night. One beauty queen would emerge as the winner of the coveted MBGN 2017 crown but other tiaras are also up for grabs, such as the MBGN Ambassador and the MBGN Tourism. The event will be held tonight at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos. Time is 7pm, barring ‘African time.’
The organiser of the event, Silverbird Entertainment, today unveiled the beauties in their glory wearing slinky evening dresses. The judges and hosts were also made public.
According to Silverbird, the MBGN beauty pageant is a “Celebration of the very best of beauty, grace, intelligence and poise…, a glamorous, once in a lifetime event.
Personalities that will be sitting on the judge’s bench include corporate lawyer Ogechukwu Ochuba, media broadcaster and film producer Biola Alabi, Ogun State First Lady, Olufunsho Amosun, Publisher Richard Balogun, medical director Lanre Tejuosho, Fashion icon Gozie Azuike and Nollywood actress and filmmaker Stephanie Linus (nee Okereke)
Hosts for the event are IK Osakioduwa and Victoria Pebble. Artists engaged to keep guests entertained include Harry Song , olamide and Ara.
