Nigerian actress Toyin Abraham has taken to her Instagram page to debunk rumours going around that she is the latest NCDC ambassador in town.

Recall that after Funke Akindele went against the lockdown directive of the state government, the Nigerian centre for disease control [NCDC] took to their official Twitter handle to state that she was not their ambassador and they went ahead to take down the public service announcement by the actress on coronavirus from their page.

However, taking to their official Twitter handle, they uploaded a PSA from Nigerian actress Toyin Abraham, which had led to many blogs stating that Toyin has replaced Funke Akindele as the new ambassador.

On seeing this, the actress has come out to debunk this. Taking to her Instagram page, she writes: “It has just been brought to my attention that blogs are reporting that I am now NCDC ambassador. Implying that I have been used to replace a senior colleague. That line of thought necessitates I put this out there. I am not an ambassador to NCDC. I do not like the narrative that I am trying to take advantage of a bad situation. Please I support the campaign against Covid-19, I appeared on a video campaign against the pandemic but please let’s not drag anyone down. Thank you.
