Football body to set up a foundation for welfare of Nigerian players

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) plans to set up a foundation to cater for the welfare of footballers, the president of the federation, Amaju Pinnick, says.

According to Football Live, Pinnick made the revelation during the recently concluded 2019 NFF Awards held in Lagos state earlier this week.

“The NFF recognise and appreciate the great efforts of our footballers who have done well locally and internationally for the glory of our country,” the president says while giving a keynote address.

“They are a most important aspect in the game because, without them, there will be no FIFA, NFF, sponsors, fans and others.

“The NFF will be putting in place the NFF Foundation principally to look into the welfare of players,” he adds.
