So, commuters on the busy London tubes, on Sunday 7th January 2017 could go without wearing trousers, skirts and no one batted an eyelid.
What made the stunt (how else might we describe it) so extraordinary was that participants were willing to expose their body at the peak of the winter season. And in case you’re wondering, it wasn’t it for a charity cause either – just fun.

The event was organised by The Stiff Upper Lip Society. The rules are simple:
#1. That you are willing to take your trousers off on the Tube.
#2. You are able to keep a straight face while doing it.
Further advice provided by the organises included: “You can wear fun underwear if you like, but nothing that screams out, ‘I wore this because I’m doing a silly stunt.’
“Wear two pairs of underwear if it makes you feel more comfortable. Don’t wear a thong or anything else that might offend people.
“Our aim is to make people laugh, not piss them off.
“Please don’t wear anything overly close-fitting (so no thongs, banana hammocks or mankinis) or kilts without anything underneath. We don’t want people to be disgusted, and the organisers do not want trouble so we are putting our trust in you.”
And you bet, participants were happy to adhere to the ground rules.
