Liverpool FC beat Tottenham to become 2019 Champions League winners

Liverpool has claimed their sixth champions league trophy in their victorious final match against Tottenham in Madrid.

Resilient striker, Mohamed Salah, who was knocked out of the game with an injury at Liverpool’s loss at last year’s champion’s league, pushed his team to the finish line this year with a penalty after two minutes when Moussa Sissoko was contentiously punished for handball.

The Spurs had chances but were denied by Liverpool keeper Alisson, who saved well from Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Christian Eriksen.

And their failure to capitalise was ruthlessly punished when substitute Divock Origi ensured manager Jurgen Klopp won his first trophy as Liverpool manager by driving low and powerfully past Hugo Lloris with three minutes left.

Liverpool lifted the trophy and now stand behind only Real Madrid and AC Milan as serial winners of the Champions League.
