Ace Nigerian comedian Okey Bakassi has warned against comparing Nigerian film industry, Nollywood to American’s Hollywood, just because it’s an unfair comparison.
That is not to say that Nollywood doesn’t have its own advantages, for instance, Nollywood can tell its own stories better than anyone else as the comedian notes, though the Americans have the technology edge. He thinks a collaboration with the technology-advanced industries will deliver the goods.

The comedian made his opinions known to Punch’s Sunday Scoop.
His words: “Nobody can tell our stories better than us. Comparing Nollywood with Hollywood is unfair. Hollywood has been around for a while and they are telling their stories the way they want to.”
“Technology-wise, Nollywood is behind Hollywood, but that doesn’t mean we are not doing well. There is still a lot of room for improvement. All we need to do is partner with other developed industries because we have good stories we can share with them.”
