Israel Adesanya wins interim middleweight championship

Nigeria’s Israel Adesanya has defeated Kevin Gastellum to win the interim middleweight championship belt on Saturday night through a unanimous decision.

He defeated his opponent in a co-main event of UFC 236 at Atlanta.

According to Bleacher Report, “The interim belt is a step, but it only guarantees that he’ll be the next in line to welcome Robert Whittaker back to the Octagon.”
